Help Support Families who had a Premature Baby!

Hi Guys, I want to let you all know about this amazing Charity called, Life's Little Treasures Foundation. They are a charity run solely by volenteers, who help to support Families who have had a premature baby.

My twin girls were born well before their time at 24weeks and spent a very long time in hospital. It was a very stressful time for us, and the girls at Life's Little Treasures were an absolute godsend for us! They were there on the phone anytime we needed to talk and helped us through what was an extremely difficult time for us. Not long after the girls were home from hospital we decided that we needed to get involved and help out other families who are going through a similarly tough journey! So for the last 4 years I have been involved with Life's Little Treasures in talking to families who are currently still in hospital and helping to run morning teas for these families as well as families who have left hospital with their babies.

Life's Little Treasures Foundation is having their very first Walk For Prems, and my Hubby Trent and my Girls are going to run 10km to support and hopefully raise a bit of money for this Awesome Charity. We would love it if you could support them. You can find their fundraising page here http://www.everydayhero.com.au/trent_eads

And please if you get the chance pop over to the Life's Little Treasures Foundation website to check out all the amazing things that they are doing!

CHAPTER 35: CHESS - CHESSBOARD - CHESSMEN

"They don't keep this room so tidy as the other,' Alice thought to herself, as she noticed several of the chessmen down in the hearth among the cinders: but in another moment, with a little `Oh!' of surprise, she was down on her hands and knees watching them. The chessmen were walking about, two and two!

`Here are the Red King and the Red Queen,' Alice said (in a whisper, for fear of frightening them), `and there are the White King and the White Queen sitting on the edge of the shovel -- and here are two castles walking arm in arm..."

--Ch. 1: Through the Looking Glass

The challenge this week is again the brainchild of DT member Lynne-to use some aspect of the game of chess! You might want to use a checkerboard pattern, or feature a King, Queen, Knight or Castle (Rook), or some other aspect of the game we haven't thought of - we just need to be able to clearly see CHESS in your creation!

We are THRILLED to announce that there's a prize this week, too! Thanks to our generous sponsor, PAPER MANIAC, this week, they are giving away a set of Artistic Outpost Alice in Wonderland mini-stamps AND a sheet of E.A.D. Designs Stickerz! How awesome is that?

I have kept my card this week nice and simple. Although I keep feeling like it is missing something, like a bow and some flowers and maybe a few other things...hehe! Maybe I'm not mean't to do nice and simple....hehe!

I have taken my inspiration from the Gorgeous Margie's card from last month. Hope you don't mind Margie, but as soon as I saw this challenge your card sprung to mind!

Make sure to pop over to the Oh Alice blog to see what the rest of the DT have come up with!

CHAPTER 35: Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Wonderland's Door

"Alice laughed so much at this, that she had to run back into the wood for fear of their hearing her; and when she next peeped out the Fish-Footman was gone, and the other was sitting on the ground near the door, staring stupidly up into the sky.

Alice went timidly up to the door, and knocked.

`There's no sort of use in knocking,' said the Footman, `and that for two reasons. First, because I'm on the same side of the door as you are; secondly, because they're making such a noise inside, no one could possibly hear you.' And certainly there was a most extraordinary noise going on within--a constant howling and sneezing, and every now and then a great crash, as if a dish or kettle had been broken to pieces.

`Please, then,' said Alice, `how am I to get in?'  ~Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Hey everyone!   It's a beautiful day here in Wonderland and we are BACK with another challenge!  !
Have you ever felt like Alice?  Not sure which door, window, or keyhole will be opened or closed next?  Not sure which direction you're going but curiouser and curiouser about them all?

What a PERFECT opportunity to explore some new avenues, and walk through new doors we bring you at Oh, ALice this week.   Thats right!  Your challenge this week is to create a card or project using a Door, Gate, or Keyhole.  Now, you can also get creative and do a gatefold technique, etc.  As long as we can see it's a "Gatefold" or that there is a door, gate, or keyhole somewhere on your project!  How FUN is this?

The best part?  There's no time limit to play this week, so have fun and here's to opening lots of new doors in the future!

I have a soft spot for red heads! Might have something to do with my own hair color and that 3 of my kids are red heads as well....hehe! CHAPTER 34: A Mad Tea-Party

`And ever since that,' the Hatter went on in a mournful tone, `he won't do a thing I ask! It's always six o'clock now.'
A bright idea came into Alice's head. `Is that the reason so many tea-things are put out here?' she asked.
`Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: `it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles.'
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?' said Alice.
`Exactly so,' said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.'
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?' Alice ventured to ask.
~Chapter 7, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Awesome Wonderland greetings to all! First of all, let's congratulate our WINNER from last week's text challenge. Congrats to XYZ! Send a note to the Mad Hatter, Jessica, for details on how to claim your Greeting Farm single!

Can you believe summer is fairly over, well Winter if you live her in Oz? It's time to change from iced teas over to hot teas. I love autumn and all the wonderful warm drinks, wonderful sweaters and gorgeous colors it brings. In Wonderland, it was perpetually tea time and I could live that life for a long, long time!

Your challenge this week is to explore things that could make up your tea-time activity. Use tea bag folding in the construction of your project. This is a great resource: Tea Bag Folding. Anything relating to time would pair perfectly with this challenge, but isn't a requirement! Show us your fab folding abilities, doing it Alice-style!

You have until midnight Central time on Friday, October 15th to complete your project and link it up to the Oh Alice Challenge blog. You don't want to miss out on your chance of wining a 6x6 pad of Basic Grey papers! The clock is ticking - don't be Late for TEA!

So my card uses a tea bag folding technique called Dahlia Folding. The Lovely Leonie taught this technique at a Stampin Up class I attended. Thanks Leonie!

So don't forget to head over to the Oh Alice Blog to check out the rest of the DT's Amazing Tea Bag foldings!

CHAPTER 33:DICTIONARY of Nonsense

Alice didn't dare to argue the point, but went on: `-- and I thought I'd try and find my way to the top of that hill -- '

`When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, `I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.'

`No, I shouldn't,' said Alice, surprised into contradicting her at last: `a hill can't be a valley, you know. That would be nonsense -- '

The Red Queen shook her head, `You may call it "nonsense" if you like,' she said, ` but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!'
--Ch. 2: Through the Looking Glass

Greetings from Wonderland!  Before we commence this week's challenge, LOTS of tea-toasting to our FABULOUS new October Guest at Tea:  DONNA BUDZYNSKI!   Donna's amazing work caught our eye a while back and we are thrilled to have her joining us!   A VERY MERRY unbirthday to you, Donna!  WELCOME!

The challenge this week is to use TEXT in a NONSENSE way - not to read, but as a pattern in your card.
