Chapter 47: Back Down the Rabbit Hole

Greetings, Friends!

Today is a BITTERSWEET...although MOSTLY sweet post for Oh, Alice.   It has been almost ONE YEAR since Jess got this crazy little idea one night to dedicate a blog, and a Saturday each week, to Alice in Wonderland because of her deep love of the characters, story, and mostly just Alice. We have had an AMAZING team of girls on the DT, some who have been and gone and some that are still with us, but always creating Gorgeous creations for you!

After careful consideration and thought, some of us had decided that it was time to head back down the Rabbit hole and onto new Adventures.

Oh, Alice will be closing it's doors this week, but will return next week as The Altered Alice, a blog that our Twisted Thirteen member Lynne Phelps has started and will continue on from here.   There is nothing to fear!  The Altered Alice will still be bringing you FABULOUS challenges, lovely excerpts from our beloved chapters that tell us so much about Alice's world, and we have alerted our sponsors about the new Blog name and format, so hopefully you'll see some familiar faces VERY soon!

Here are a few words from Lynne about what you can expect at the Altered Alice:

"In Wonderland, Alice learned that everything changes so the important thing is to be true to yourself. That is true for the Alice in Wonderland challenges as well, which will be changing and growing in new directions under the next Mad Hatter, our own design team member Lynne Phelps. The Oh, Alice! challenges will now be hosted on her Alice in Wonderland artwork blog, The Altered Alice (link: http://alteredalice.blogspot.com). You will find our same familiar challenge Chapters but they will be in a new monthly form, beginning on the first Sunday of the month and posting the winner on the last Sunday of the month. The design team will provide weekly project posts to inspire you along the way! "

Without further adieu, I'd like to thank all the members of the Twisted Thirteen who have been AMAZING to create with and I would especially like to thank Jess for giving me a go on Oh Alice, I have loved every minute of my time on this DT, but unfortunately I won't be continuing with the Altered Alice and wish all that do all the very best!

Be sure to FOLLOW "The Altered Alice" right away so that you do not miss out on the first challenge or any new prizes coming their way!

On that note, let's get to this week's CHALLENGE:

This week's mission is to travel "Back down the Rabbit Hole" challenge-back to the beginning-Create a HELLO card (for OR a "Goodbye" card-it's all about what it looks like on the other side of that Looking Glass, right?

The DT has once again been blessed with a WONDERFUL assortment of Nikki Sivils papers and embellishments to work with as Nikki has graciously supplied the DT with, as well as a WONDERFUL prize pack for ONE lucky winner (winner will be announced next week on the Altered Alice challenge Blog and also you must link your creations THERE.

In addition to creating a HELLO or GOODBYE card and entering it over at The Altered Alice, the NEW Alice in Wonderland Challenge Blog, don't forget to "FOLLOW" the new "Altered Alice" blog where next week's challenge AND the winner of the last Nikki giveaway will be drawn!

So I have made a Goodbye card. I have used this Gorgeoous Tilda stamp, using some of the beautiful
Nikki Sivils papers. I liked how tilda was blowing kisses, it is like she is saying goodbye and good luck, which is exctly what I wanted to say!

My Card was colored with Copic Markers on Xpress It Blending card, all of which are available from Sammi over at Mad For Markers!

Time for another FFF!

Can you believe that it's Friday again already, where does the time go! Friday on the farm means it's time for another Farm fresh Friday. This week we want you to use paper toll or dimensional techniques to Pop up your projects and amke them come to life.

ETA - Image has been taken done for Publication

As you can see from this picture I have popped Anya up a couple of times to make her stand out. I have also popped Ian's flower up as well!

I have used the 'I do' set and made a wedding card, I don't have anyone I know getting married, but you never know hey! I was so excited to use my new stash of ribbon which arrived during the week. I have to say thank-you to Kellie for enabling me in my ribbon addiction, you were sooo right Kellie, it is just Gorgeous Ribbon and it goes perfectly with this card!

ETA - Image has been taken down for publication

I just love this quote, it is sooo cute! I wanted to use it on the card, but I just didn't have the room for it, so I decided to make a tag that was tucked into the card, so whoever gets this card will have a little surprise on a tag!

Oh Alice Meets Mad For Markers

"Hush-a-by lady, in Alice's lap!
Till the feast's ready, we've time for a nap.
When the feast's over, we'll go to the ball -
Red Queen, and White Queen, and Alice, and all!"
~ "Queen Alice", Through The Looking-Glass

We here at Oh Alice, hereby cordially invite you to meet Iracebeth the Red Queen of Crims and Mirana the White Queen. Iracebeth and Mirana are sisters who couldn't be more different:  while the White Queen is kind and gentle and is loved by everyone, the Red Queen's answer to everything is "Off with their heads!"

To honor our Royal Highnesses, we challenge you to choose which Royal Court you would want to have rule over you, the Red Queen's or the White Queen's???
So the challenge this week, if you should choose to accept it, is to create a card/project that is either mostly white or mostly red.

This week's Oh, Alice challenge is being sponsored by Baby Bud Designs!
"The Baby Bud illustrations you see in the shop have been drawn ‘free hand’ by the artist and owner, Mary Anne Wainright. There is never any computer re-imaging involved. Their quirky little imperfections are what make them original, unique and whimsical and reminds the viewer that they were created from the heart."

Baby Bud Designs has not only generously let the DT use her images, but is also offering the winner a choice ofTWO digital images from their Baby Bud Designs Etsy Shop!

Over at Mad for Markers our Current challenge is based on Australia Day. We want you to use The Aussie colors of Red, White and Blue or Green and Gold to create with!

I have gone with the Red, White and Blue colors, although my red does look a little like washed out Salmon, but I promise I have used my R Copics, just the very light ones though!

Sorry it's not a great Picture, but I have had to take it last night, so it was the best I could get!

I saw this great tutorial for this rustic flower the other day and I had to give it a go. I was pretty happy wth how it turned out. I think you will be seeing a few more of these!

My card was colored using Copic MArkers and Xpress It Blending card, all of which you can get from Mad For Markers! I will be back later to add in my colors that I used. I have taken a picture of them, but it is on my other computer, so I will load it up later!

`Oh, I've had such a curious dream!' said Alice, and she told her sister, as well as she could remember them, all these strange Adventures of hers that you have just been reading about; and when she had finished, her sister kissed her, and said, `It WAS a curious dream, dear, certainly: but now run in to your tea; it's getting late.' So Alice got up and ran off, thinking while she ran, as well she might, what a wonderful dream it had been.
-- Chapter 12, Alice in Wonderland
