Mad For Markers DT Card

Here is my Mad For Markers DT card for the week. I hope you like it and the Copic colors are listed below.

I did initally started this card for the Monday Mania Challenge, which was to alter stamped images. which by the way has now been and gone! I had so much fun doing this and now my TGF stamps have become even more versatile! I tried a new combination of colors for the Red hair and I'm not sure what I think, I think I like it, which is better than hating it...lol! When I was half way through this card the next Oh Alice challenge came up and you had to use butterflies or caterpillars on your card, so of course I had to get out my new MS Butterfly punch and use it. This is my new favourite punch! I really like this card and I think I will keep it for my twins birthday in July, although I will have to make another one, as one card between two just doesn't work for me or them...lol!

Copics Used:

Platnium Blonde Hair-E50, E51, E53, E55

Platinum Blonde Hair coloring Tutorial

I have to say that I was a little nervous putting this, my very first Copic Coloring Tutorial together for the Mad For Markers Blog together, but I am happy with the end result and I hope you are too! Now I have to mention that  I am NOT Copic certified. So this tutorial is just how I color Platinum Blondes. Hope you like it and find it helpful. So first up this a picture of the colors I have used, E55, E53, E51 and E50.

First off grab your E55 marker and starting with the fringe lay a little bit of color at the top and bottom of the fringe like in the picture.

Next up grab your E53 and lay a bit of color above and below where you have colored with the E55 on the top and bottom of the fringe. Do the same thing next with your E51. You should now have three different rows of color on the top and bottom of the fringe and a white gap in the middle.

Ok, so next you grab your E50 and add a small amount of color to the top and bottom of the fringe leaving a very small line of white to create the appearence of a shine. Using the E50 again blend the top and bottom of the fringe so that there are now no definite lines from each color you have put down. Like in this photo below. You now can't see the exact line of where each color has been done.

Now onto the rest of the hair. Take your E55 and put some dark color in around her face and a few more over her hair. See the photo below.

Next up is to take your E53 and put some color near where you have put your E55, but remember that you still have two more colors to add in so make sure to leave room for those colors.

The next color you will add is E51. Add some lines around the ones you have already put done.

Last of all you need to grab your E50 and blend the rest of the hair together and there you have it, your Platinum Blonde is all done!

I hope I have inspired you to give this hair color a go.

Mad For Markers - My First DT Card!

I am very excited to show this card, as it is my first DT card for Mad For Markers. I have used the gorgeous Stella from The Greeting Farm, which was stamped off for me by the lovely Sammi. Isn't she just so adorable. I have also used my brand new Marth Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch, which just happened to be delievered yesterday morning right as I was finishing my card, so of course I had to use it and add it onto my card. And I have to say that I love this punch, so you will probably be seeing a lot more of it...haha!

I have entered this card into the following Challenges:
Oh Alice - Sketch Challenge
Flutterby Wednesdays- Open Challenge

Oh Alice-Painting the Roses Red

So this weeks Oh Alice challenge was to use the colors red, blue and purple and also this inspiration  piece
As soon as I saw the wonderland digi set I knew I had to have them. I love this Alice, she is so adorable! I have to admit that I struggled with this weeks Oh Alice challenge. You know when you get an idea in your head that lloks awesome and then in reality it's not so good. Well this happened to me with this card! I colored up this gorgeous rose, but in the end I couldn't get it to work so I ended up tossing it and starting again. So the end result is that I'm not totally happy with this card, but I can't keep staring at it, so have decided that this is it, it's finished!

I am so glad that it is Friday tomorrow. We have such a busy week with all the afterschool activities my kids have and Fridays is our day off! Although I do have my Premmie Group tomorrow, which I love doing. I run a support group for families, but mostly mums come along, who have had a prem baby. Hope you all have a great Friday and a great weekend.

Baby Card

I got this whiff of joy stamp a little while ago and have been waiting to be able to use it for a while now and finally I got the chance to use it. I have cased this card off a whiff of joy site and for the life of me I can't remember where, so if this looks like your card, thank-you for the inspiration!
I started this card a little while ago and have only just finished it. It is for an old school friend of mine who has recently had a little boy. I hope she likes it!

SweetPea's March Challenge

I just love these ching-chou kuik's Fantasty Art Stamps. They are so much fun to color! This one is called 'Dark Sirene'. I have made this card for the SweetPea Stamps Customer Card Challenge. The challenge was to make a card that screamed Spring, must have flowers on it and use the colors Pink, Green and Yellow. I think that this stamp definitely screams Spring with all of the flowers in her hair. I have added some kindy glitz to all the flowers as well as the butterfly. The butterfly is from the ching-chou kuik's - Come Softly.

We have had a long weekend here in Melbourne, although it has been a pretty crappy one weather wise. I have had 2 sickies so not much sleep. Little Oscar has a cold as well as his big sister Lily, but Oscar being only 9 months can't really take anything so he is a bit miserable. Hopefully he will pick up in the next couple of days. Anyway gotta go as I promised my son that I would make him scones when he got home from his friends and he has just got home and is asking where's his scones!!

Oh Alice, Monday Mania and Simon Says

You know how some cards come together easy and some don't, well this was one of those cards that didn't come together easily! I think I was a little lost without my bows, ha ha ha!! Oh well, some take more work than others!! But the end result is that I am happy with it and my oldest Daughter Ella has just told me that she loves it and wants it for her birthday, which is in May, so that's one birthday card done.

I have a questionng for those of you that use copics. What do you store them in? At the moment I have them in a container laying flat, but I am wanting something to stand them up on my desk to make it easier to grab the one I want. I would love to hear what you store them in.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Oh Alice - Sketch Challenge
Simon Say's Stamp Challenge - Mothers Day/Girly
CA&F - Monday Mania - Seeing Spots
