Oh Alice Chapter 24: Windows and Broken Glass...

`Now tell me, Pat, what's that in the window?'

`Sure, it's an arm, yer honour!' (He pronounced it `arrum.')

`An arm, you goose! Who ever saw one that size? Why, it fills the whole window!'

`Sure, it does, yer honour: but it's an arm for all that.'

`Well, it's got no business there, at any rate: go and take it away!'

There was a long silence after this, and Alice could only hear whispers now and then; such as, `Sure, I don't like it, yer honour, at all, at all!' `Do as I tell you, you coward!' and at last she spread out her hand again, and made another snatch in the air. This time there were TWO little shrieks, and more sounds of broken glass. `What a number of cucumber-frames there must be!' thought Alice. `I wonder what they'll do next! As for pulling me out of the window, I only wish they COULD! I'm sure I don't want to stay in here any longer!'

Hello friends...it's CRYSTAL CLEAR that today you're all joining us for a fabulous challenge here at Oh, Alice!   We have all sorts of lovely techniques for you to try today!

Your mission today with Oh, Alice, should you choose to accept it, is to try a technique using cracked glass, crystal effects (or glossy accents), or a window stamp/technique.  There are TONS of possibilities with today's challenge and we are SO ready to see all of the fabulous creations you enter!

So I decided to make a card with an acetate window in it. It's a little hard to see it in the photo, but the centre has been cut out to create a window that shows through to the inside of the card. I made this card for my husband's Nan who turns 88 tomorrow, she is such a beautiful person and very much loved in this house! So I know it is a shock, but I haven't used my copics for this card!! It was strange to not have to color in once I had stamped, but I really enjoyed making this card! Hope you like it!

And don't forget to pop over to the Oh Alice blog to see the rest of the Amazing DT's creation!

I am very sad to say that this is my last post as the July Guest Designer for Oh Alice. I have had the best time creating with these amazing ladies and would like to thank everyone over at Oh Alice for welcoming me into their group, you ladies ROCK!! And a special big thanks to Jess for asking to be a part of the team for the month of July!

Ella's Pinto Pony!

This card was done by my 9 year old daughter Ella. I was coloring up a Pinto Pony and she decided to color one as well, except she has got hers finished and mine is still sitting there. I showed her an example of Pinto Pony by Heather and well she loved it and wanted to create her very own Rainbow Pony!  I told her how fantastic it looked and that I would show it on my blog, as it really is really cool, she got very excited. So here is Ella's Pinto Pony! Hasn't she done an AMAZING job!

Oh Alice Chapter 23: Ravens and Writing Desks....

The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this; but all he said was, "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
"Come, we shall have some fun now!" thought Alice. "I'm glad they've begun asking riddles. — I believe I can guess that," she added aloud.
"Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?" said the March Hare.
"Exactly so," said Alice.
"Then you should say what you mean," the March Hare went on.
"I do," Alice hastily replied; "at least--at least I mean what I say--that's the same thing, you know."

Hello everyone!

We are ready to FLY with this week's challenge here at Oh, Alice!

This week, we challenge you to use BIRDS on your card or papercrafting project!   We may never know the answer to the riddle above, but while we're pondering that and life's little mysteries we may as well make a great card or two in the process, right?

I have created my Bird card using an image from this Alice in Wonderland site, which has some fantastic drawings and was pointed out to me by the lovely Lynne. Lynne has done some stunning cards using these drawings and I have to say that my card this week has been inspired by those gorgeous cards. So if you get the chance please go and have a look at Lynne's cards! Hope you don't mind that I have cased your stunning creations Lynne!

So head over to the Oh Alice blog and see what the rest of the Amazing DT have come up with.

This is a card that I made for a good friend of ours who's birthday was last week! So I have named him Farmer Wayne. Now I have to admit that Male cards are not my strong point! I definitely feel more at home with bling and flowers and all that girly stuff, but I am happy with how this turned out. I got this gorgeous WOJ Farmer image from the lovely Tracy, thanks Tracy!

They went through so much when they were first born and now to see them as happy and healthy 4 year olds really makes each birthday that extra bit special. We had a great day, we went to the park and had chips and gravy for lunch and then the girls had their favourite lamb cutlets for tea and chocolate cake! Of course they were spoilt with some great presents...hehe!

Oh Alice - Chapter 21:Breaking all the rules...

SATURDAY, JULY 10th
CHAPTER 21: Breaking All the Rules...

"At this moment the King, who had been for some time busily writing in his note-book, cackled out `Silence!' and read out from his book, `Rule Forty-two. ALL PERSONS MORE THAN A MILE HIGH TO LEAVE THE COURT.'

Everybody looked at Alice.

`I'M not a mile high,' said Alice.

`You are,' said the King.

`Nearly two miles high,' added the Queen.

`Well, I shan't go, at any rate,' said Alice: `besides, that's not a regular rule: you invented it just now.'

`It's the oldest rule in the book,' said the King.

`Then it ought to be Number One,' said Alice. "

Hello everyone!

Today we have a fun and rather rebellious challenge for all of you out there in WONDERLAND!   We start out with a lovely sketch by Sammi:
The catch?  You must RE-CREATE this sketch somehow.   Switch out a panel or two, flip on its side, upside down, etc.  There are no rules except to break them, meaning you can't follow the sketch exactly!  Makes no sense right?  GOOD. :)

Today we also are thrilled to announce another wonderful sponsorship from SPESCH DESIGNER STAMPS!   Thank you so much to Tracey Feeger for allowing the DT to work with your adorable images!   Tracey is offering a prize of a VERY generous $10 Gift Certificate to the Spesch Designer Stamps Store!  Be sure to check out all of her cute designs and be sure to play along this week for your chance to WIN!

Go ahead...BREAK all the rules...you KNOW you want to!

So here is my card. I have used the Gorgeous White Queen from Spesch Stamps, isn't she just Stunning! Anyway as you can see I have definitely changed the sketch up and even broken some of the rules! I have created my flower using the fantastic tutorial that Kim has her blog here!

Make sure you pop past the Oh Alice Blog to see all of the Amazing DT creations!

You have until Friday, July 16th at 8pm CST to enter to win!   Good luck and be sure to link your creation below!   Ta-ta for now all you rebels out there!

Exciting Oh Alice News!

Well I am extremely excited to announce that I have been asked to be the July Guest Designer for Oh Alice. I couldn't believe my eyes when I got an email from the Mad Hatter herself (Jessica) asking me if I was interested in the position. Oh course it took me all of about 2 seconds to respond back YES!!!!!

So without further ado.......here is my first post as the Oh Alice Guest Designer!

Chapter 20 - In My Country......

"Well, in our country," said Alice, still panting a little, "you'd generally get to somewhere else -- if you ran very fast for a long time, as we've been doing."

"A slow sort of country!" said the Queen. "Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"

(Through the Looking Glass, Chapter 2)

Hello, friends!  Can you believe July is here already?  Such a fun time of year for summer fun...parades, BBQ's, you name it...it's THAT time of year!

To honor our country's Independence day, with the 4th being right around the corner, we have a PATRIOTIC theme for you today!  WONDERLAND has gone red, white, and blue!  Yep, that's right!

Call it inspiration, a color challenge....I guess it's really both!   Your mission this week is to use RED, WHITE and BLUE on your card or project!  In addition we have a WONDERFUL Sponsorship opportunity today.  Thank you SO much to EMILY from EAD Designs!  Emily has graciously offered the DT some wonderful Alice-themed stickers to use for our projects today (unfortunately our international friends didn't get theirs in time, but hopefully we'll have stuff to show you soon!).

ONE LUCKY WINNER will receive a WONDERFULLY GENEROUS gift certificate to the EAD Designs Store!   Just get your red, white and blue on and ENTER your card here to win!

Before we get to this week's challenge, we have a few FUN announcements to make!   Sadly we say goodbye to Jimmi this week.  We thank her for all her wonderfully twisty designs and will miss her at the tea table here.   We are THRILLED to announce at the same time, that Lynne Phelps has accepted a FULL TIME position here right at our twisted table.  Lynne's designs TOTALLY WOW'd us as our June Guest Designer and well, some things are JUST SO Alice that they're meant to be!  WELCOME LYNNE!

So here is my Oh Alice Creation!

AnyaInk - Create a Scene

This weeks AnyaInk Challenge is to Create a Scene. I have used Princess Anya and a castle from My Cute Stamps to create my little Fairytale Scene. Although I am very disappointed that I dropped my Ink pad onto my Princess and as you can see it has left a mark. I am planning on fixing this buy recoloring another Princess Anya's crown and hair and sticking it over the messed up bits, but I haven't had time yet! I also tried to create some clouds in my background, but it hasn't shown up quite so well in the photo, but believe me they are there...hehe!

So get don't forget to go and check out the rest of the DT's amazing creations on the AnyaInk Blog and then get creating on your own scene! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
